Installation Advice
Do the doors need a wooden frame?
No, you needn’t worry about a frame for our doors as the doors come with their own aluminium frame made up of the guide runners on each side and the fully enclosed top box.
When installing the door, how much headroom is needed for the top box?
For our TD55 doors, you will need 205mm square, and for the TD77 and TD77SP ranges, it is 300mm square.
How wide are your guide runners?
The width of the guide runners varies depending on the door type. For Tradedor-manufactured doors, they are as follows:
- TD55 – 65mm wide
- TD77 – 95mm wide
- TD77SP – 75mm wide
Are your doors easy to install?
Yes, our doors are very easy to install, and to make things even simpler we can send you a comprehensive set of fitting instructions by email for you to look at. Just send your details and request via an email or complete our online contact form and we’ll get back to you.
If I fit the top box below the lintel, how much height will I lose?
We’d recommend that, alongside the space of the boxes (205mm square for the TD55 and 300mm square for the TD77 and TD77SP), you should also account for about 50mm extra headroom for the protrusion of the last slat to fit into the guide runner. In total, this means you will lose about 255mm square for the TD55 and 350mm square for the TD77 and TDD77SP ranges.
